Knee, Ankle, Shoulder and elbow injuriesFrom runner's knee to tennis elbow, athletes are prone to many different injuries. The joint areas endure a lot of stress and, therefore create a lot of pain for the person. Contact sports, such as football and rugby create dislocations, where jumping sports, like basketball and volleyball show a high number of ankle injuries. Injuries can also depend on what position you play and the amount you stretch before the game or practice. Treatment of the joint injuries usually include an X-ray or similar test to correctly diagnose the injury. The prognosis may be anything from bed rest to surgery, but will always include physician directed physical therapy and rehabilitation.
