Diabetic NeuropathyDiabetic neuropathy is a condition associated with complications from diabetes. It usually goes unnoticed, because the first signs are a tingling sensation in the lower extremities. This can lead to weakness of the limbs and eventually, if gone untreated, nerve damage. Regular cuts and scrapes can become a complication because the individual is unaware of them, and untreated can become infected. Control of diabetic medication to get blood levels normal is the first step of treatment. Physician directed pain relief medication may be prescribed, also physical and massage therapy can be helpful once the patient is ready for rehabilitation.
