Complex regional pain syndromeComplex regional pain syndrome has been described by patients as a throbbing or burning in one or more limbs. The pain is so immense that moving the limb is described as “intolerable”. Typically this pain stems from side effects of a previous injury. The area of pain is usually discolored, will have muscle spasms or stiffness and there is a change in nail or hair growth. Diagnosis can involve tests such as X-rays or MRI to see if the muscle or bone has changed in size. Treatments can include physician led medicinal therapy , physical or massage therapy, or various medicinal creams. For more aggressive cases, electrical nerve stimulation or spinal stimulation may be implemented
