Arthritis conditionsArthritis is the leading disability of individuals over the age of 55. Many people are afflicted with arthritis and many more believe that there is no help available for them. Although there is no cure for arthritis, there are many ways to alleviate the pain. There are also many different types of arthritis; all of them have different causes, different types of pain, and different ways to deal with them. From autoimmune rheumatoid arthritis, to degenerative osteoarthritis, the one thing all the different types of disorders have in common is the breaking down of the joint. Arthritis conditions are hard to treat because many techniques that would normally be used can actually do more harm than good. It is important to strengthen the joints without doing any damage, which is difficult with such fragile areas. Blood tests and X-rays can help the physician to diagnose the different types of arthritis. In very extreme cases, arthroplasty might be needed, which is a joint replacement surgery. Physician directed physical, occupational and massage therapy would be helpful to all kinds of arthritis conditions. .
